BARAMULLA – The Gurudawara of Param Peela in Uri, which suffered extensive damage during the earthquake of 2005, was thrown open today after completion of reconstruction works.
Sikh devotees from all across the State attended the function at Gurudwara.
The Gurudwara had suffered extensive damages in the said earthquake and even the Guru Granth sahib had to be shifted to Shatipadth shahi Baramulla.
The Gurugranth Sahib was today brought back to the Gurudwara from Baramulla and religious discourse was started again as per past practice.
Minister for PHE and Flood Control, Taj Mohi ud-Din was present on the occasion.
Addressing the devotees, the Minister, who helped in reconstruction of the Gurudwara, said Jammu and Kashmir has been the abode of all religions and communal harmony of people has been proved beyond doubt. He assured the management of the Gurudwara all help and support.
The devotees on the occasion, hailed . Taj for the gesture and helping in getting the Gurudwara renovated.
