Man Held with RDX in Shopian

SRINAGAR – The Jammu and Kashmir police in a joint operation with the army and CRPF today arrested a man with 40 kilograms of RDX like material along with other ammunition.

A police spokesperson said, “Shopian police alongwith 62 RR and 14 Bn. CRPF arrested Abdul Qayoom Thakur son of Gulzar Ahmed resident of Chak-i-Cholan, Shopianand recovered 40 Kgs of RDX like material and 302 rounds of pika ammunition from his possession in village Chak-i-Cholan, Shopian”.

A case under FIR No 349/2012 under section 7/25 A. Act and 3/4  Explosive Substance Act was registered in this regard, he added.
