Distributes interim relief among victims
JAMMU – Minister for Medical Education, R.S. Chib, on Sunday visited government medical college, Jammu, to enquire about the health of Narwal blast sufferers that took place here last night.
The minister asked the doctors about the status of injured and directed them to extend best medicare to them for their early recovery. He also interacted with the wounded persons.
Chib also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of deceased Kuldeep Raj and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. He also wished for early recovery to the injured.
Meanwhile, minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, also visited GMC, Jammu, and enquired about the health of the injured.
District Development Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma, accompanied the Minister.
Bhalla directed the GMC to provide best medicare to the injured for their early recovery.
During his visit, Bhalla also distributed interim relief amounting Rs. 10,000 each among seven Narwal blast injured besides Rs. 1 lakh to the family of deceased Kuldeep Raj S/O Rakhu Ram of Chowki Choura.
Later, the Minister also visited Nanak Nagar Sector-5 and conducted public grievances camp for assessing the development related issues of the general masses.
Addressing the Public Grievances Camp, Bhalla said Government was fully aware of peoples problems and is making all out efforts to provide all improved basic amenities at their doorsteps.
The Minister called upon the people to protect public property in their respective areas adding that such Government assets are created for their use. He said various prestigious projects are in pipeline at Gandhi Nagar like teacher bhawan, air-conditioned auditorium, 200-beded maternity hospital, 100-bedded hospital at Gangyal, 4th bridge from Bhagwati Nagar to Bikram Chowk, artificial lake in Niki Tawi and 6-lane Kunjwani-Satwari road.
To ease traffic congestion on Bikram Chowk-Satwari road, . Bhalla said Government has released Rs. 97.50 crore for construction of Ist phase double lane flyover from Bikram Chowk to Convent School including 8-lane road widening. He said the project would be started soon.
Responding to the locals demand, the Minister asked PDD to install one more 250 KVA transformer in Nanak Nagar sector-5 so that improved power supply could be provided to the residents.
