Police Seeks Info On ‘Mentally Deficient’ Detainee

SRINAGAR (ONS) – The Khanyar police are looking for information about an unidentified person arrested over a week ago who has been declared mentally deficient by a psychiatric board.

It said that the detainee, picked up on November 9 and booked under sections 436 and 511, had been taken to the psychiatric diseases hospital here for evaluation when he was unable to give any details about himself.

“The medical board has declared him as mentally deficient,” the police said.     

 “Anyone with information about this arrested person may contact the Khanyar police station on phone at 2455049, or the SDPO Khanyar at 9419140715, or the SP City, North, at 9419052327,” it said.
