Incentive of Rs 14 lakh to be provided to farmers
BUDGAM – To apprise farmers about the latest farming technology & machinery to be adopted, Farm Machinery Mela was organized by the Department of Agriculture today at Khansahib.
On this occasion Sub Divisional Magistrate Khansahib, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad said that traditional style of Agriculture should give way to modern hi-tech Agriculture to boost agriculture production. He advised farmers to take benefits from Kissan Welfare Schemes launched by Agriculture Department & coordinate with department for successful implementation of programme.
Chief Agriculture Officer Budgam, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Parray said that to ensure sustainable production by utilization of land as per capability. Ha also emphasized that the need for protection from large scale of conversion of cultivable land to non-agriculture purposes and avoid construction of brick kilns on cultivable land. He said that key challenges confronting agriculture is to produce grains for growing population in sustainable manner.
Among others Officers & field functionaries of the department and the large number of farmers were present on the occasion. Farmers appreciated the efforts of Agriculture Department for organizing such Melas.
In the Mela authorized dealers displayed their machinery equipments & other tools Farmers of Sub Division Khansahib purchased 3 Tractors, 6 Tillers, 80 Irrigation Pump Sets, 40 Foot Sprayers & 18 Poly Green Houses, for which Rs. 14 Lakh will be provided to farmers as subsidy component.
