SRINAGAR – Reacting to the statement of Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq carried by local newspapers, where he had said that Democratic Freedom Party Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah was in the knowledge of the Delhi visit of the Hurriyat members, Democratic Freedom party Monday said that they were never in the know-of the same.
“To say and portray that the DFP Chairman was aware of the Delhi visit is not good,” said the DFP spokesperson. “What the DFP had proposed in the executive meeting is that the Hurriyat should delay the Pakistan visit for some time as Pakistan was engaged in elections. It was also said that Hurriyat should first set its house in order and then decide on the Pak visit,” he added.
From DFP’s side the last meeting of the amalgam was attended by Muhammad Abdullah Tari, the spokesperson said.
A visit to Pakistan at this crucial time when the elections were in full swing in the country will not be fruitful for Kashmir cause, which is the question of the aspirations and sacrifices of the lakhs of people of Jammu and Kashmir, he quoted Shah as having Shah.
