Champions trophy Cricket Tournament
SRINAGAR – Opener Mohsin Ramzans knock of 87 guided PCC Nigeen to win the Champions trophy cricket tournament by beating City forest cricket team by four wickets in the finals on Tuesday played at TRC ground.
City forest won the toss and opted to bat first and managed to score a formidable total of 192for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 30 overs, Opener Zubair Ahmad was the top scorer for city forest scoring 55ball 47 runs including two boundaries and three hits for maximum, Irshad Ahmad also contributed 25 ball 32 while medium pacer Mehjoor Ali took two wickets for PCC.
Chasing 193, PCC achieved the set target in the final over with four wickets in hand. Their openers provided a solid start to their side adding 50 run partnership for first wicket. Their good work was carried forward by Mohsin Ramzan who scored 87 including half a dozen boundaries and two sixes and was ably supported by Bilal Ahmad who remained unbeaten on 55, for City Forest, Shivpora, medium pacer Shakeel Bhat was the pick of the bowlers claiming three wickets in his six over spell Waris Ahmad also chipped in with two wickets.
Mohsin Ramzan of PCC for his knock of 87 was declared man of the match. While Zubair Ahmad of City Forest team was adjudged man of the series scoring 272 runs in the tournament, while his team mate Rayees Ahmad was given best bowler for claiming 14 wickets in the tournament.
The tournament was organized by Sports Fraternity of Dalgate in which 32 teams participated
