Jammu, Nov 12: Governor Jammu and Kashmir, N N Vohra has extended warm greetings to the people on Diwali, the festival of lights, and prayed for their well-being and prosperity.
In a message of felicitations, the Governor observed that this festival symbolizes the triumph of truth and righteousness over falsehood and of good over evil, highlighting the high values and ethos of the countrys great civilization.
The Governor hoped that the celebration of this festival this year will strengthen communal harmony, brotherhood, amity and secularism, which are the hallmark of our glorious composite cultural traditions and be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has also extended his felicitation to people on Diwali wishing them well being and prosperity.
In his Diwali message issued here today, the Chief Minister referred to the tradition and heritage of Jammu and Kashmir in celebrating festivals and holy occasions in an atmosphere of amity and brotherhood. He expressed the hope that this trait of the State would be further strengthened adding that the sharing of happiness and joy adds colour to the celebrations of happy occasions.
The Chief Minister expressed the hope that Dewali will be herald of peace, prosperity and progress of the State and the Country and harbinger for love, amity and brotherhood.
