Govt Shows Concern For Separatists’ Comfort; Checks Homes For Power, Water


Srinagar, Nov 08: In an unexpected gesture, the divisional administration here has inspected availability of basic facilities at the homes of several separatist leaders, including Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Maulana Abbas Ansari, and Bilal Ghani Lone.

High level official teams have recently visited the homes of several such leaders to gather details of about everyday necessities like water and power supply, reports said.

According to sources, a squad led by additional district magistrate Inam-ul-Haq, and comprising of senior officers of the power, public health, fire services and police departments dropped in at the Nigeen residence of the Mirwaiz to gather details of his water and electric supply.

The team also inquired about the fire safety measures in the Mirwaiz’s vicinity.

According to sources, Maulana Abbas Ansari, too was treated to a similar visit, with officials inspecting the availability of basic amenities at his residence.

The official team gathered similar details from the homes of Bilal Ghani Lone, Shahid-ul-Islam and several other separatist leaders as well.

Talking to the KNS from New Delhi, Lone said that he was unable to understand why the civil and police administration had become suddenly concerned over the availability of civic amenities at his home.
