Jammu | A militant was arrested along with his Pakistani wife and two children in Rajouri district, police said. The militant was arrested yesterday along with his family when they were heading towards Pangai in Thanna Mandi area of Rajouri district.
“The militant had taken the route of Karachi-Kathmandu-Bihar via Jammu to reach Rajouri,” official sources here said. They said militant Showkat Ali (code name Walid), 24, resident of Pangai, Thanna Mandi and his wife Hameeda Kousar, 20, resident of Mirpur in Pakistani part of Kashmir, were arrested at Thanna Mandi bridge along with their two children Khalid Walid, 4 and Omar Walid, 9 months. “Ali was subjected to interrogation during which he admitted his involvement in militancy before crossing over to PaK for arms training in January, 2003 when he was 15 years old,” they said.
“The missing report of Ali had been registered on January 18, 2003,” they said, adding that on August 23, 2012, Ali’s family had applied for his return under Rehabilitation Policy of the government.
The militant had also attempted last month to infiltrate into this side but was sent back by the Army. A case under 2/3 Ingression Internal Movement Control Ordinance IIMCO had already been registered against him while the court had issued warrant against him under Section 512 RPC. A fresh case has been registered against him and investigations are in progress. Agencies
