Srinagar, Nov 7: The foundation stone laying ceremony of the campus of Central University of Kashmir (CUK) at its designated site at Kurhama Tulmulla in Ganderbal district has been postponed.

The ceremony was scheduled on November 16 and the foundation stone was to be laid jointly by Mr. Kapil Sibal, Minister for Human Resource Development and Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah.
The function has been postponed in view of the recent cabinet reshuffle in the Union Government and the subsequent change of portfolio in the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

The Vice-Chancellor of the University contacted the office of the new Minister MHRD, Mr. M Pallam Raju, for the purpose. The Minister has expressed his inability to be available in November 2012. The next date for laying of the foundation stone will be finalized in consultation with the Ministry and the Chief Minister of the State.
