SRINAGAR – Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora emphasized for making available the adequate stocks of essential commodities during winter in the Valley in order to facilitate to the consumers.
This, he said while chairing officers meeting conveyed to take stock of the availability of essential commodities in the Valley.
Among others, Chief Engineer Power Development department besides officers of Revenue, Public Health Engineering, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution attended the meeting.
It was given out in the meeting that adequate stocks of essential commodities including Rice, Atta, Sugar and Kerosene Oil are available in the Valley while in border areas 78018 quintals of Rice, 40856 quintals of Atta and 6395 quintals of Sugar have been stocked for winter months to facilitate the consumers.
The Minister exhorted upon the officers of Power Development department to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the consumers besides expedite the repairs of damaged transformers. He also impressed upon the officers to ensure the availability of LPG to the consumers in the Valley.
