SRINAGAR – J&K Bank today organised a financial literacy camp at Nagam in Kulgam. The Camp was attended by fruit growers, others affiliated with agricultural activities and local residents including Sarpanch of the area.
Facilitator FLCC A R Hakeem discussed the schemes tailored for the economic upliftment of people located in far flung areas.
Lead District Manager (LDM) made the participants aware about the importance of opening and maintenance of accounts with the Banks.
He also made them aware about the formalities to be completed before opening of accounts and assured them of complete support while obtaining the loans and other problems they have been facing in this regard.
Sarpanch thanked the organizers for holding such a camp in the area.
Meanwhile, the Bank conducted a financial literacy and credit counseling camp at the Community Centre Hall in Binner, Baramulla.
The camp was attended by a large number of people including Sarpanches from the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Facilitator FLCC gave a detailed account of the centre, its formation and objectives.
He said, The primary objective of the centre is to educate the people about the basics of how to manage their finances and make them aware about the ways and means of financial empowerment.
Head B.U Azadgunj, Baramulla gave a detailed overview of the savings schemes of the Bank like SB Ujala, Savings General Scheme and impressed upon the audience to inculcate in themselves the habit of savings.
He further elaborated upon the education loan scheme and urged the audience to avail the benefits of these products for brighter and better future of their children.
Zonal Coordinator (Apple/KCC) spoke about Apple scheme and Kissan Credit card scheme of the J&K Bank.
He discussed the security clause of the scheme with the audience.
He said that J&K Bank has created teams under Apple Project who visit villages on continuous basis for ensuring collection of application forms under KCC and ensuring smooth distribution of cards and credit to the farming community.
The Banks Zonal Coordinator Insurance also interacted with the audience and impressed upon them to take benefit of the insurance products for safety and risk cover.
The Area Manager J&K Grameen Bank deliberated upon the customer rights under fair practices code and responsibilities of customers.
He stressed upon the audience for proper end use of funds and timely repayment of loans. He talked about the benefits of being linked to banks and financial institutions.
Horticulture and Agriculture department representatives also interacted with the audience during the camp and made the gathering aware of the services available with the departments.
