SRINAGAR (KNS) - Several separatist leaders Monday paid rich tributes to the memory of lakhs of Muslims martyred outside Jammu on November 6, 1947 in the aftermath of partition.
In a statement, Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, said the massacre of Muslims near Jammu by forces and communal marauders on the fateful day during which even women and children were not spared as one of the darkest chapters of the state history.
He said the Jammu martyrs would never be forgotten and their mission would be accomplished at any cost. He said nobody would be allowed to trifle with the unity and integrity of Jammu and Kashmir. The hearts of people in both the regions beat together and the sacrifices rendered by the people of Jammu for freedom would never be forgotten, he said.
