SRINAGAR – Young Writers Association (YWA) conducted a seminar on Kashmiri Poetry in Srinagar on Saturday which was aimed at highlighting the importance of Kashmiri poetry in modern times.
The participants urged upon the govt. to take serious initiatives to promote the kashmiri language in the schools and colleges of the state, and stressed that young poets writing in kashmiri should be encouraged at every level.
The seminar which was held at the Radio Kashmir auditorium was attended by renowned poets and scholars, including Gh. Nabi Khayal, Prof. Rehman Rahi, Dr. Aziz Hajni, Prof. Zaman Azurda, Rafiq Raz, and Zareef Ahmad Zareef.
Convenionr of the YWA Ranjoor Tilgami presented the key note adress, where as president of the association Farooq Wagoori presented the well come address. On the occasion, Ishaq Majrohs Rag ta Dag was also released. (KNS)
