Provide All Sports Facilities to Youth: Abdullah


Favours Lawn Tennis, Basket Ball Courts in Women’s College MA Road & BDC

SRINAGAR – The National Conference President and Union Minister,  Dr. Farooq Abdullah who is also the Member Parliament for Srinagar- Budgam constituency today reviewed the works undertaken under his MPLAD and asked for immediate completion of the works under progress. 

While reviewing the works in a meeting with the district officials here today he enquired about the status of the playing grounds of Amar Singh College and SP College for which he has already released one crore each. 

“The two grounds used to get sub-merged under water and I wanted these grounds to be ready so that we can hold cricket tournaments there,” said Farooq 

Dr. Farooq was told that the works are in the final stages which includes five Lawn tennis courts and Basket Ball courts each in the two colleges. 

He issued direction that similar Basket Ball courts and Lawn tennis courts should also be constructed in the Women’s Colleges Moulana Azad Road and Bemina College immediately and said that he will release the funds from his MPLAD. 

He emphasized that the youth should be provided all the sports facilities so that they can use their talent and prove it to the world. He added that all these works should be completed without any delay 

SMC Commissioner Dr. GN Qasba, Dy. Director Planning, District officials were also present in the meeting.
