MLA anguished over Govt’s failure to nab desecration culprits

SRINAGAR – MLA Langate Er Rasheed has expressed deep anger and anguish over the alleged failure of the government to identify the culprits involved in desecration of Jamia Masjid at Bicherwara.

Addressing a gathering at Jamia Masjid Bicherwara, MLA Langate expressed surprise that intelligence and security agencies who everyday make big claims of unveiling many so called alleged conspiracies have so far failed to identify the culprits who have been operating in the Valley to hurt the religious sentiment of muslims.

He said that recent incident of desecration of the mosque is the third in a row in the same area. He reminded state administration that just few week back inhabitants of Udipora Langate had caught a non-Kashmiri resident red handed while trying to desecrate the masjid in the said village, however the culprit involved in the heinous crime was released after few days only and it was said that the offender is a mentally retarded person. It seems as if the govt. is least bothered with the sensitivity of the issue and does not want to unveil the conspiracy. Er Rasheed said that had the said non-Kashmiri culprit been interrogated properly, it would have helped a lot in finding the root cause of the conspiracy.

“If so called patrolling by the army during the night hours has taken lives of many innocents in past few months in North Kashmir and nobody dares to move during night hours, how come it is possible that someone can dare to commit the shameful act of desecration of mosque during the darkness of the night when common masses are left to the mercy of security forces”, he said.

Meanwhile while addressing a public meeting at Jihama Haril, Er. Rasheed said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah cannot run away from his responsibilities by merely saying that he has surrendered two gas connections. Er. Rasheed said that surrendering of two gas cylinders seems to be not even worth a joke with the common masses who are suffering at the hands of a failed and defunct administration.

He asked the government to wake up and ensure that gas supply is provided to consumers without any further excuse. He said that it is obvious that government is least bothered about the tough winters ahead and seems to be unconscious to realize the hardships being faced by the people at all fronts especially for the want of electricity and gas.
