SRINAGAR (ONS) – Detained Muslim League leader Masarat Aalam has been booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for the sixth time and sent to Udhampur Jail, eliciting strong condemnation from Syed Ali Shah Geelani who termed the step as political vendetta.
Arrested after the 2010 agitation which he largely masterminded, Aalam had been brought to Srinagar from Udhampur recently, and lodged in the CIK centre at Humhama, reports said.
Only a few days ago, the courts had quashed PSA charges against Masarat Aalam, but the government has flouted judicial orders once again, by booking the Mulsim League leader under the same act for the sixth time, the chairman of the Hurriyat (G), Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
This is nothing but political vendetta carried out by the present government, he said.
