Role of Sufi saints towards peace, brotherhood hailed
SRINAGAR – Underscoring the need for unity among Muslims across the globe, various scholars, ullema and civil society activists highlighted the role of Sufi saints towards a peaceful social order, in the Shaan-e-Awliya Conference at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) here today.
The Conference was organized by Kashmir Society and Minhajul Islam with collaboration from the tourism department, J&K Bank and Alhumdaan trust.
The organizers said that fifteen Mashaya and Sajada Nisheen of Madina and Makkah and other Arabian States were represented by Shiekh Showkat Bukhari in the conference. However,the participants from Pakistan, who were scheduled to participate in the conference, could not attend the conference due to delay in issuing of their visas. Their message was, however, read during the conference, the organizers said.
The international Sufi conference, besides the descendents of the Gousul Azim was also attended by Mufti Aazam Bashirudin Farooqi, Chairman Minhajul Islam Movlana Allama Mohidin Naqeeb Kashani, Chairman Civil Society Kashmir Kh. Renzu Shah, Sajada Nasheen Pir Dastigeer Shrine Khalid Geelani, Mirwaiz central Kashmir Moulana Lateef.
Speakers highlighted the contribution of Hazrat Bulbul Shah (RA) and Hazrat Ameer Kabeer (RA) for creating an amicable social order during their life time because of which Kashmir is known to the world as place of peace, knowledge and abode of love.
Speakers also presented their research papers and delivered lectures on their research.
