JAMMU – The Enforcement Wing of the Drugs and Food Control Organization (D&FCO) carried out checking of drug sale retail outlets in various parts of the state particularly to identify establishments which are unauthorised and unregistered.
During the inspection, 22 establishments were closed down in Jammu division and 143 in Kashmir division. During inspection it was found that these shops were being run by people serving in government health institutions who managed to carry out business through impersonation and unfair means.
The trade member have been given strict instructions to desist from sale of medicines to such unauthorized shop failing which legal action will be initiated against such firm by the regulatory authority.
