Srinagar – Reacting to Prof Saif-u-Din Sozs statement, that no party can form government in Jammu and Kashmir without support of Congress independent MLA, Engineer Rashid has said that the statement itself speaks about the ill designs of congress not to allow regional parties to join hands with each other in the larger interest of Kashmiri people.
In a press statement issued here today he said that by pressing hard for reservation in BDC elections for SC and ST communities, Congress cannot hide its ill designs towards the people of Kashmir.
He said that if Soz and others have really some sympathy for Kashmiri people then they should have put their weight in the voices who want reservation for SC and ST to be kept confined to only those parts of the state where their population really exists.
MLA Langate reminded Saif U Din soz and his colleagues that why are they keeping absolute silence to ask New-Delhi to resolve long pending Jammu And Kashmir dispute to which congress has been one of the key players. MLA said that by projecting itself as champions of SC and STs congress is just wanting to consolidate its vote bank in the SC dominated areas in Jammu. He asked Prof. Saif U Din soz to clear his stand over proposed construction of road to Shri Amarnath Shrine and the expected environmental disaster in case the road is constructed. MLA said that congress leadership is always keeping in mind the one point agenda that is to safe guard its interests at the national level, that is why . Soz and others dont utter even a single word towards the demands for removal of draconian Laws like AFSPA and PSA . MLA further said that it is oblivious that by adopting principle of divide and rule it is intentionally facilitating to curb genuine rights and aspirations of Kashmiri people and is using all ways and means to ensure that two big regional parties NC and PDP should not join the hands with each other for the larger interest of people of Jammu & Kashmir. MLA Langate cautioned the congress to stop playing with the sentiments and aspirations of Kashmiri people and not to insist on such misdeeds which can erode the already eroded autonomy.
