Srinagar – To review the pace of ongoing road widening of Jammu Srinagar Highway, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon chaired a meeting of Collectors here on Wednesday.
Among others Deputy Commissioner of Pulwama, Srinagar, Anantnag and Budgam districts besides Project Director, National Highway Authority of India attended the meeting.
It was given out that an amount of Rs. 261.96 crores have been disbursed as compensation among 3481 beneficiaries of the four districts including Anantnag, Pulwama, Budgam and Srinagar.
The meeting was also informed that an area of 4914 kanals and 17 marlas have been handed over to the National Highway Authority of India.
As many as 58 villages of District Anantnag, Pulwama, Budgam and Srinagar are involved in the widening of the road project.
Divisional Commissioner asked the collectors for speedy disbursement of the compensation to the rightful land owners, the land of whom has been acquired for the road project.
