Srinagar – Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) is honouring the memory of one of the tallest Urdu researchers of modern times by organizing a memorial lecture to talk about the present status of Urdu research here.
On October 20th 2012 at 2 P.M., noted writer, scholar and Head, Department of Urdu, Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Abul Kalam Qasmi, will deliver the Akbar Hyderi Memorial Lecture on Urdu Tehqeeq Aalmi Maiyar Ke Hawalay Se (Urdu Research and the World Standard) at the Academys Conference Hall, Lal Mandi Srinagar.
The memorial lecture, first to be organized by the Academy, is the recognition of the quality research work done by Dr. Akbar Hyderi who passed away on 18th September 2012. It may be recalled that during the condolence meeting organized by the Academy to mourn the demise of Dr. Hyderi on 20th September 2012, the Secretary JKAACL, Khalid Bashir Ahmad, had announced that Akbar Hyderi Memorial Lecture will be soon organized in memory of the renowned researcher who belonged to Kashmir but whose fame transcended the boundaries of India. Writers, scholars and researchers will attend the memorial lecture.
Dr. Hyderi wrote about one hundred research oriented books. His in-depth research works include books on Iqbal, Ghalib, Mir, Anees and Dabeer.
