Srinagar – Minister of State for R&B Mr. Javed Ahmad Dar has said that a comprehensive rehabilitation project has been framed for dislocated shopkeepers of Nowgam, Athwajan and Parimpora affected in road widening project .
The minister was reviewing the progress of the rehabilitation process, started by the Government, at an officers meeting held here today.
Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Baseer Ahmad Khan, Chief Engineer, R&B, Mushtaq Ahmad, Project Director, National Highway Authority of India, Mr. Varendar Singh and other senior officers and representatives of Shopkeepers Association were present on the occasion.
It was given out that Rs. 1.61 crore have been earmarked for rehabilitation of 188 dislocated shopkeepers while NHAI was asked to expedite provision of the rest of the funds required for the purpose.
Deputy Commissioner while giving the details of the project said that every aspect has been kept in account while framing rehabilitation plan. He said the suggestions of the shopkeepers are getting due consideration to ensure formation of amicable rehabilitation plan.
