Srinagar – The Minister for Forests and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmed informed the House that the construction/ infrastructure development at different places wherever required in the forest areas are allowed to be taken up after the cases are properly processed under J&K Forest Conservation Act and sanctioned by the Competent Authority keeping all the aspects into consideration.
This was stated by the Minister while replying to a Call Attention Notice of Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri in Legislative Council today.
The Minister said the army has constructed a Defence Road (Gulmarg-Asha Road) from 0 to 13.25 KM for defence purpose which has been cleared properly by Department of forest under Forest Conservation Act, adding no concrete road has been constructed in Apharwat area as well as the other proposals are under process for installation of Air Defence Sensor and construction of Avalanche Retarders by High Altitude Welfare School (HAWS).
