Jammu – A dental awareness programme was organized at Lawrence public school, Sidhra by Health Education Bureau, Directorate of Health Service Jammu to create awareness on dental health. About 250 students were checked up.
Speaking on the occasion, Dental Surgeon, Dr.Swati Sharma besides Pankaj Gupta and Swarn Singh from Health Education Bureau stressed upon ways to adopt good oral hygiene. Dr Swati said that dental caries is chronic disease of teeth with high prevalence in children and brushing twice daily is pre-requisite for healthy teeth and should be followed by everyone. Also tooth brush must be replaced after every three month a visit to dentist should be made every six months and foods rich in vitamins and minerals must be taken. Healthy teeth are important for health living.
Dental checkup was done by Dr Sonali Gupta, Dental Surgeon and with Pharmacist Mr. Rohit Seth from PHC Dansal.
While presenting the vote of thanks, Shivani Joshi, thanked Health Department for organizing such awareness programme.
