Srinagar – A delegation of cross-LoC traders’ union today called on Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhavan here to press for its demands.
The eight-member delegation of Salamabad-Chakoti Traders Union met the Governor and demanded increase in the number of cross-LoC tradable goods, besides installation of fullbody truck X-ray scanners at Trade Facilitation Centre here.
They also demanded creation of additional storage infrastructure for goods and warehousing and cold storage facilities at Srinagar and Jammu for smooth supply, an official spokesperson said.
Accommodation facilities for traders at the Trade Facilitation Centre, provision of canteen, medicare and office space for the traders, provision of insurance cover of goods, telecommunication and banking facilities and periodic meetings of cross-LoC traders were also some of their demands, he said.
A delegation of Kashmir Printers Association called on Vohra and demanded measures for growth of the industry, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to printing units and effective implementation of the provision of 15 per cent price preference for these units as per industrial policy.
J-K Human Welfare Association, Centre for Peace, Development of Humanity and Rehabilitation of ex-Militants, Srinagar, also called on the Governor and urged him to ensure rehabilitation of ex-militants in the state.
The Governor agreed to take up the demands with the Chief Minister, the spokesperson said.
The 8-member delegation, comprising . Raja Zahoor Khan, . Farooq Ahmad Bagoo, . Rashid Ali Zargar, . Rafiq Mir, . Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, . Sami Ullah and . Nazir Ahmad Ganai, thanked the Governor for taking keen interest in the promotion of the cross LoC trade.
