Srinagar – Minister of Medical Education . R. S. Chib on behalf of Power Minister in reply to a question by . Vijay Bakaya and . Ajatshatru Singh informed the House that the mandate for development of Mini Hydel Projects (upto 2 MW) is with Science and Technology department.
He said that with regard to projects above 2 MW the Government has notified the J&K Hydroelectric Projects Development Policy 2011 for development of projects from 2 to 100 MW in July 2011 replacing the State Hydel Policy of 2003.
The Minister said that during the last five years JKSPDC has advertised 18 projects under the J&K Hydroelectric Projects Development Policy 2011 for development out of which 15 are in the small hydel category (i.e upto 25 MW) and three are above 25 MW.
Minister of State for R&B, . Javed Ahmed Dar in reply to a question by Master Noor Hussain informed the House that the Chief Minister has ordered enquiry for looking into the reasons for collapse of the vented causeway on river Devak at Utter Bani. The report has been received and is under examination of the Government, he said.
