The buzz around the India launch of the iPhone 5 is getting louder. According to BGR India, the iPhone 5 is coming to India on 26 October. The report said,
Multiple sources have confirmed to us that Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone 5 in India on the last Friday of this month, which happens to be October 26.
Not surprisingly the price of the iPhone 5 has not been revealed. The rumour mills have pegged the cost of the device at Rs 50,000, which it would place it at a much higher price point than rivals Samsung Galaxy S III or the HTC One X.
Earlier this month, there were reports that Apple had slashed the prices of the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 in India in anticipation of the iPhone 5 launch.
According to IBN-Live which quoted an Apple spokesperson, the price of the iPhone 4S 16GB model was slashed to Rs 41,400, a reduction of Rs 3,100 from its earlier price of Rs 44,500.
The iPhone 4 8GB also saw its price drop to Rs 28,300 from the earlier price of Rs 37,900.
BGR had also previously reported that Airtel, Vodafone and Aircel had placed orders for nano-SIM cards for the iPhone 5.
