Srinagar – To monitor the progress of special Summary Revision of electoral rolls 2013, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir who has been appointed as the Electoral Roll Observer for Districts Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Bandipora, Kupwara and Baramulla convened a meeting of Officers of District Budgam and Srinagar here today.
Among others District Electoral Officers of the Srinagar and Budgam Districts besides, Electoral Registration Officer and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers participated in the meeting.
Pertinent to mention that Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir has been appointed as Electoral Roll Observer for conducting special Summary Revisions of Electoral Rolls 2013 by Election Commission of India.
Threadbare, discussions were held regarding the progress of addition, deletion and correction of electorate besides monitoring the claims and objections for summary revision of electoral rolls.
District Election Officers, Budgam informed the meeting that as many as 303920 Electoral Photo Identity Cards have been distributed against 410352 electorates of the district.
Divisional Commissioner urged for the concerned District Electoral Officers to achieve the targets within the stipulated time for the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls. He also emphasized for the appointment of Both Level Officers in their Districts to ensure proper monitoring of the revision process.
