KU To Host Int’l Seminar on Globalisation


Srinagar – Department of Sociology in collaboration with Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi and National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) is organizing a two day International seminar on “Globalization, Change and Emerging Imperatives”– India and Thailand from 28th to 29th September.

Almost 6o eminent academicians from various reputed institutions of Thailand and from various Institutions of India like Chulalongkorn University, Fellow of the Royal Institute, The Dushdi Mala Medal, National Research Council of Thailand, Institute of Economic Growth, New Delhi, Indian Institute of Management, Kolkatta, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Institute of Public Enterprise Hyderabad, ICSSR, New Delhi, etc are participating in the Seminar.

Abdul Gani Malik, Minister for Higher Education will be the Chief Guest on the Inaugural Session of the seminar scheduled on September 28, 2012 at 10.30 a.m. in Gandhi Bhawan of University of Kashmir and Prof. Sukhadeo Thorat Chairperson, ICSSR and former Chairperson, University Grants Commission, will be delivering the inaugural address. Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir will be the chief guest on the Valedictory function scheduled on September 29, 2012 at 3.00 p.m. in Gandhi Bhawan of University of Kashmir.

Dr. Aneesa Shafi, Associate Professor in Department of Sociology has been nominated as the organizing Secretary by ICSSR.
