GDC Hiranagar, MIET win matches

Srinagar – In the ongoing Inter-College chess championship Government Degree College, Hiranagar defeated Degree College Udhampur by 3-1 points.

A spokesman said that on the second day, GDC Samba trounced GDC Paloura by 3-1 while as MIET Jammu beat GDC Akhnoor by 4-0. “SPMR College of Commerce Jammu won over GDC Poonch by 4-0, GDC Bhaderwah defeated GDC Reasi by 3-1, GDC Kathua beat GDC Billawer by 4-0 and GCET won over GGM Science College,” he added.

He said quarter-finals will be played on Wednesday.

Principal of the host College, Dr. Nutan Kumar Resutra visited the venue and encouraged the participating teams.

National Arbiter S.P Sharma and Sushil Kumar Sawhney, from Jammu University officiated the matches under the supervision of P.D Singh, who is also Observer from Jammu University.
