MUAS To Convince Foreign Countries To Boycott US Goods

Srinagar – A 3-member team of the Muttahida Ulama-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat (MUAS) will visit New Delhi “soon” to convince foreign envoys to boycott US goods, its chief spokesman said today.

At a press conference in the backdrop of a derogatory film on the Holy Prophet, Qazi Yasir Ahmad said that the Zionist lobby had begun to spew venom against Muslims after the 9/11 attacks.

“In its desire to emerge as a global hero, the US first used to project Russian as the Red Peril and now projects the Muslim world as the Green Peril,” he said.

“Freedom of expression does not mean hurting the religious sentiments of crores of Muslims,” he said.

“The US wants to turn the entire world into its market, so Muslims should boycott American goods to strike a blow at its trade,” he said.

Qazi Yasir claimed that several NGOs active in Kashmir had US backing in promoting a specific agenda.

“If they don’t desist from such activities, they will be exposed before the public,” he said.

The cleric also condemned the arrest of protestors after Friday prayers this week.

Repeating the MUAS call for a protest strike on Tuesday, Qazi Yasir made an appeal to all sections of the society to make it a success.Observer News Service
